✅ Long Lasting ✅ perfect for cozy winter days
❌too warm and woody for summer or spring
Althaïr – Parfums de Marly
Scent profile: Floral, Woody, and Spicy
Known for blending a variety of unique scents, Parfums de Marly delivers yet again with Althaïr. This elegant fragrance captures the essence of winter with a captivating mixture of floral, woody, and spicy notes creating a perfect balance for cold days.
This is what it must smell like in heaven at Christmas. This has become one of my absolute favorite new winter perfume for 2024.
I didn’t like it at first because it was a bit “too much” for me, but even with this fragrance you have to be patient for a short time and after 15 minutes it becomes more and more pleasant and a wonderful soft vanilla scent emerges in which you can smell oranges in the background all the time. A very seductive fragrance. Longevity is top and sillage is also above average. Definitely one of the strongest candidates for the new winter perfumes 2024.
Goddess – Burberry
Scent profile: Fruity, Floral, and Warm
Goddess by Burberry offers a harmonious blend of fruity and floral notes with a warm undertone. This enticing fragrance is sure to steal your heart and make you feel like a goddess as you stroll through snowy landscapes.
At the beginning, you notice lavender paired with vanilla. However, the lavender stays within limits and doesn’t become annoying. In the drydown, I then smell more and more of a beautiful dark vanilla note. This also lasts for a few hours. And if I didn’t know that it is a designer, I could also assume in the drydown that it smells nischig. So for me it’s a great addition for fall/winter.
Boss Bottled Elixir – Hugo Boss
Scent profile: Citrus, Amber, and Earthy
Boss Bottled Elixir by Hugo Boss is a refreshing blend of citrus, amber, and earthy notes, creating a crisp and invigorating aroma. This sophisticated fragrance is perfect for those who desire a long-lasting scent for winter evenings. This fragrance has an absolute right to exist int the list of new winter perfumes 2024.
So whoever was at work here really is a master of fragrances. Never, really never would I have expected such a strong and good-smelling fragrance from another brother of the Boss Bottled family. The first few minutes are filled with a good load of incense, followed fairly quickly by cardamom, which gives it an oriental touch.
As the fragrance progresses, the Elixir becomes increasingly spicy and woody, underpinning the incense from the opening. In the dry down, the elixir becomes even more resinous and a little earthier due to the labdanum, and it also becomes a little creamy, balsamic and warm at the end.
Lasts around 10 hours. The sillage is not quite at the same level, but still very good. Very suitable for winter or late fall.
Cherry Smoke – Tom Ford
Scent profile: Cherry, Tobacco, and Leather
Cherry Smoke by Tom Ford offers a unique combination of cherry, tobacco, and leather. This rich and daring scent is perfect for those who appreciate unconventional fragrances and want to make a statement during the winter months.
A super cherry with a smoky flavor and spiced with saffron. However, it doesn’t take too long for the smoked cherry to recede somewhat. The cherry becomes increasingly paler and the osmanthus becomes more prominent. The saffron note remains and is now more prominent. The performance of the fragrance is unfortunately only just okay. Significantly weaker than other fragrances for colder days.
Moonlight – Pana Dora
Scent profile: Vanilla, Sandalwood, and Musk
Moonlight by Pana Dora is a romantic and alluring scent featuring vanilla, sandalwood, and musk. This enchanting, dreamy fragrance will captivate your senses and fill your winter nights with warmth and mystery. For the new winter perfumes 2024, this scent justifiably claims its spot.
If you are looking for a wonderfully pleasant fragrance with white chocolate, then you have found one of the best fragrances of its kind. This fragrance starts directly with fruity, sweet notes paired with really fine chocolate. Later, a light honey note with soft tobacco joins in and rounds off this perfume wonderfully. This fragrance makes the cozy days of Christmas that much nicer. Moonlight was only released this year, but is already one of Pana Dora’s best releases.
Majestic Green – Zara
Scent profile: Green, Floral, and Balsamic
Majestic Green by Zara is a harmonious blend of green notes with a touch of floral and balsamic undertones. This refreshing and soothing fragrance is the perfect choice for daytime activities during the winter season. This perfume is a necessary addition to the new winter perfumes 2024 lineup.
I am also suspicious of fragrances from Zara. But what Zara is doing at the moment is simply different. These fragrances have POWER! They last and have good sillage at a price you would never expect such a performance. But now back to the delicious Majestic Green.
It is warm and spicy. Unisex. Sweet. While the wood is slightly synthetic, the vanilla smells like a real pod. I actually find it slightly gourmand, as it smells like a dense, edible vanilla-cardamom cream, just a hint of pepper – served in a wooden bowl that has a strong scent of its own.
Devotion – Dolce & Gabbana
Scent profile: Oriental, Spicy, and Floral
Embrace the spirit of devotion with this opulent fragrance from Dolce & Gabbana. Its irresistible oriental, spicy, and floral notes make this a luxurious scent suitable for sophisticated winter events.
Here you literally get a lemon-vanilla tartlet. The lemon is not scratchy, shrill and sour, but sweet and candied. After half an hour, an orange blossom comes in that I find incredibly beautiful. Not old and heavy, but light and almost solar. The creaminess increases more and more with every hour. A great, edible vanilla. Caressing, soft, seductive. Very high quality and expensive.
If you love to smell like a Christmas bakery, this is for you. Provided you’re a vanilla fan!
1 Million Golden Oud – Paco Rabanne
Scent profile: Oud, Amber, and Saffron
1 Million Golden Oud by Paco Rabanne provides a luxurious and captivating scent made with rich notes of oud, amber, and saffron. This bold fragrance is perfect for those who want a strong and memorable scent during the winter season.
The 1 Million Oud has almost nothing to do with its brothers. It is a fragrance from the series that really stands out to some extent. In my opinion, what you get here is a superficially spicy, woody fragrance with an oriental twist.
The fragrance starts directly spicy and peppery. Finely polished saffron with nutmeg and pepper. There is a certain freshness in the background. After a few moments, a certain sweetness even comes through, but a little differently than in its brothers. Perhaps the typical 1 Million DNA is still present. I think that with a little imagination, you could even draw an association with peppermint chocolate. The durability and sillage are average.
Tobacco Honey – Guerlain
Scent profile: Tobacco, Honey, and Wood
Tobacco Honey by Guerlain is a warm and alluring blend of tobacco, honey, and wood notes. This comforting fragrance will wrap you in its embrace on cold winter nights, offering an irresistible coziness.
The Tobacco Honey lives up to its name, especially at the beginning and the first time. The fragrance gives you a load of honey and tobacco. A slightly moist tobacco, not quite so dry. Over time, however, the tobacco becomes drier and the scent is generally a little more bitter and “dirty”. If you love honey, this is your scent for the winter. If you can’t stand sweet honey, keep your hands off it.
Spicebomb Infrared – Viktor & Rolf
Scent profile: Spicy, Aromatic, and Citrus
Spicebomb Infrared by Viktor & Rolf offers an explosion of intriguing spicy, aromatic, and citrus notes. This daring and fiery scent is sure to heat up your winter days, making it a must-try fragrance for the adventurous souls. For the upcoming new winter perfumes 2024, this fragrance undeniably belongs.
The fragrance smells very delicious and christmassy. Bright, spicy cinnamon chili on dry timbersilk. Has a clean woody effect but is also airy and spicy!
As we anticipate the arrival of new winter perfumes 2024, it’s only natural to have some questions about what to expect. In this FAQ section, we’ll explore the most frequently asked questions about the upcoming fragrance trends, best-selling perfumes, and the best time to make a purchase.
What is the trend in perfume in 2024?
In 2024, the fragrance world is expected to witness a combination of warm and salty notes that amplify the “your skin but better” concept. This style will make a statement, leading to a bold and captivating olfactory experience. Another trend to watch for is the rise of gourmand notes, which will dominate the perfume market with sweet, luxurious, and irresistible scents inspired by culinary delights, such as chocolate-drenched bouquets and vanilla-infused solutions.
What is the best-selling perfume in 2023?
While it’s challenging to determine the exact best-selling perfume for 2023, Le Labo perfumes have been incredibly popular, specifically their Lavande 31 Eau de Parfum, which features notes of lavender, bergamot, neroli, and tonka. This beloved scent is expected to continue its success well into 2024.
What is the best time of year to buy perfume?
There isn’t a definitive answer to the best time of year to purchase perfume, as it’s largely dependent on individual preferences and circumstances. However, some typical recommendations include:
- Holiday sales: Retailers often offer discounts on fragrances during major holidays, such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Boxing Day.
- Post-holiday clearance: After the holiday rush, retailers may reduce prices to clear out inventory.
- Seasonal launches: With new seasonal fragrances often released in the spring and fall, older scents may see a price reduction to make room for exciting new launches.
Before making a purchase, it’s always wise to compare prices across various retailers to ensure you’re getting the best deal possible. And remember, a signature scent can be enjoyed at any time of the year, so don’t hesitate to explore new fragrances whenever the mood strikes!
